Eating Food Naturally
It's happening. Here in BC, interest in healthy eating is
on an escalating trend. And, we know, a most important part
of this trend is eating food in its raw state. It's no small
wonder as to why this is happening. People are craving answers
that bring healthier lifestyles. Answers that vanquish chronic
disease and unpleasant
health conditions, as well as slow the aging process. Answers
that can make one move with more freedom and look and feel
healthier. Even the Canadian Cancer Society is encouraging
people to eat several fruits and vegetables a day to help
prevent cancer and speed recovery for those who've had it.
Clearly healthier eating pays.
So let's imagine what the social atmosphere would be like
in BC if people throughout this province were effectively
encouraged to grow with this raw-food, health building trend.
For example, in the Comox Valley area on Vancouver Island,
eating healthy food in its raw state has caught on well. The
area had its first monthly raw-food potluck, held on the 4th
Sunday evening of January 2004. In attendance were 22 locals.
Since that time the numbers in attendance have been between
29 and 54 people attending the potluck. In the same area raw-food
preparation classes are now being taught. Also, Zen Zero Juice
bar is expanding into a raw-food café. Soon one can
expect to see really healthy people at random in this part
of BC Imagine enough demand for a raw-food lifestyle throughout
BC to cause the same thing to happen in communities all across
this province. Imagine if one could travel and expect to find
a raw-food café in any town with a population of several
thousand or more. Imagine if raw-food/juice cafes were as
popular as coffee or alcohol bars. It will happen over time,
especially with the Raw Food Society of BC acting as a support
and catalyst for this trend.
Fulfilling the aspects of the mission statement of the Society
of promoting and supporting the raw-food trend can only serve
to make BC a better place for us all. A place to build, maintain
and enjoy superb health and better lifestyles.
Yours for health,
