Raw Food Society of British Columbia

Lorna Harvey, Director

In December 2007, being frustrated with not feeling my best and being overweight, I started doing some research on why I had such a hard time sticking to any "diet" for any length of time. Every week I received an email from Frederic Patenaude but I never read them. Since I was on vacation, I started reading his emails and got interested in raw food. As a result I decided to go raw on January 1, 2008. It has been an interesting journey since then. I ended up losing 27 pounds and I was hooked. I felt better and people who hadn't seen me for awhile said I looked great. I started reading books and doing lots of research on the internet. In March and April I took a couple of Raw Food courses with Melanie Schechter who is one of Alissa Cohen's teachers. Since then I've been mostly raw with lots of ups and downs. I'm encouraged to know that this is a way of life and I'm still learning. I'm interested in supporting the Raw Food Community in BC and look forwarding to inspiring more people to take the raw food journey.
